On Monday, November 17th, 2017, Closedverse suddenly gained a massive amount of new mods. The people appointed to be mods didn't earn the positions they are in by being good users. Instead they were just Arian's friends or friends of Arian's friends. This practice of electing those close to you to be in positions of power simply because of that is called cronyism. This has caused the censorship of certain topics in the main community such as, but not limited to anime. It also led to the creation of an unjust social hierarchy between moderators that created a distrust between users and admins.
